Ruby sat on her bed; it was overcast outside as she looked out the window, the clouds casting shadows on just about everything. She looked over at the mirror and smiled, she was still there, among the make up and the better dress code she had on. It was a miracle; she was going on a date….wow. That was what everyone had said when she had told them. She had kept the boy she was going out with a secret but truthfully, Ruby had never felt so weighed down by her emotions in her life. Anxious, more excited then scared, shock, and utter giddiness. Her giddiness came from the odds of what had had happened earlier that day.

Ruby thought about the events of the morning. She had just gotten back from a family vacation with her brothers and grandmother back to Winnipeg for a weekend. Having left her car at school, Ruby’s grandmother had dropped her off at the front. All in all, she got crashed into and then agreed to go on a date with the guy. At least Ruby thought it was a date. She sighed, it would be awkward if it wasn’t but it was very unlikely that it was not. You didn’t just ask a girl out that you just met just because. Plus, Ruby would be really disappointed considering how this guy was a stud.

Josh. That was his name. And he being a senior as well was a plus. Ruby stood and walked over to her mirror. She smiled; she actually didn’t mind dressing up a little bit. Her make up wasn’t thick but it was there. Soft, orange eye shadow with black eyeliner. Her hair was brushed and pulled into a ponytail. As for clothes, Ruby wore a red t-shirt with a black button up shirt over top. She wore dark jeans and black converse. She had to get downstairs; Josh was picking her up soon. Grabbing a black scarf and her bag, Ruby walked out her door.

Josh took another look at himself in the mirror. A nice and clean buttoned up shirt, some destroyed jeans, and a hat to top it off. Josh liked dressing casually-fancy, just to throw people off. Tonight he was taking Ruby to the Au Dela L'Ordinare, which was supposed to be a small coffee shop. Yes, Josh was taking her out on a date. Of course he only met her a little while ago, but what the heck. Josh had a great feeling about her. He didn't know what it was, but it was sure a turn on. She was so cute and just so... Yeah, you get the point. He checked himself out once more, straightening out his shirt. Josh felt really confident about this whole thing. He was sure she was going to be too, once he met up with her. Josh always gave people that confident feeling, if he was confident of course.

Smiling he pushed his hat to the side slightly and put his shoes on. Grabbing the keys to his jaguar he left his dorm to make it to Ruby's. It wasn't that far away, so he just wanted to walk there and then go to his car. The jaguar was his pride and joy, his 16th birthday present. Silver and in mint condition, it was his babe magnet... If he was like that of course. He just drove it everywhere, to make a good impression. Josh didn't want people to think he was a spoiled snob, because he was far from that. He wanted them to think he was sophisticated, even if a Jaguar didn't show that very well.

Josh pulled out his phone and texted Ruby when he was inches from the door. You ready? He asked in the text, and sent it to her. He stood there for a moment, giving her time to recieve it. Then he knocked firmly but smoothly on the door, making a little tune. Josh liked to make music with his hands. He smiled sweetly and leaned his head against the door. "Ruby, you ready? Let's go..." He cooed, straightening himself back up again. Josh hoped that Ruby was as excited as he was. He didn't want her to not like him. That would just be useless.
